Robert Labbe is a Vice President – Risk Engineering Specialist at American Global, based out of American Global’s New Jersey office. Rob has over 25+ years of experience managing construction projects and risk management with the focus areas of Safety, Quality and Productivity. Through his leadership, Rob helps guide contractors to develop best practices for health and safety programs.

Due to many experiences with Mental Health and Suicide with family and friends, Rob is an advocate to raising awareness on Mental Health and Suicide in the construction industry. Rob supports the construction industry nationally by speaking at conferences, safety committee meetings and really any opportunity he gets. Due to the engaging way that Rob gets workers attention, he is often asked to speak with workers about Mental Health/ Suicide at Stand Downs, which are events when contractors stop work site wide to address a particular topic.

Prior to American Global, Rob was a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant for Zurich North America’s Construction Division. Prior to Zurich, Rob worked for several national and global civil construction companies on the east coast of the United States in operational roles (Field Engineer, Project Engineer, Superintendent, Project Manager, etc.) with increasing responsibilities. Rob is a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management. Rob also holds the following certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Associate of Risk Management (ARM) and Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS). Rob is also an active member of the Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals, as well as Safety Executives of New York.
